464 members sent 1,841 birds. Top bird winning 1st Club Newry & Dist, 1st Sect G (42/176) & 1st Open is the master himself Ronnie Williamson.

Another 1st National result for Ronnie and another world class performance. Ronnie’s latest top performer was a smart looking blue cheq hen, a yearling, who had previously flown the two Talbennys, Bude & Penzance, prior to St Malo. She was then set up for the big one, sent sitting eggs 12 days and she duly obliged in the hard testing event with only 134 birds recorded in three days.

Ronnie’s latest top performer was not raced as a youngster, only trained. She is bred in the purple and contains all the loft’s top winning long distance bloodlines.

The INFC Kings Cup was due to be flown over the past weekend but alas due to bad weather reports etc, racemarking and liberation was delayed.

The birds were finally released after a two day holdover on Tuesday 5th July at 6am into a light west north west wind. 712 members have entered 2970 pigeons and are competing for £36, 931 in pools and prizemoney.

Good luck to all competing in the old bird seasons blue riband event, competed for, by fanciers from all over Ireland.

It is with heavy heart and sincere sadness that I have to inform the fancy of the following:

One of the sport’s true gentlemen - Mr Bobbie Kemp, the senior partner of the top racing partnership - R & R Kemp & McBride, Kingswood, died suddenly on 30th June 2016.

Bobbie was one of the old school, always immaculate in his appearance and dress and one that will never be replaced for his skills in the pigeon world also.

I could write all day about this gentleman for his knowledge and enthusiasm was out of this world. I would like to send my sincere condolences to the entire Kemp family circle at this very sad time.
