More success for Gill

DAVID GILL, Hillsborough, captured the last Championship of the Field in 2012, at the annual event organised by Coleraine and District Tractor Ploughing Society, held on 29th December, on the lands of Barry and John Barr.

There was a good turnout of just under 40 ploughmen.

The judges were Des Wright MBE, Coleraine; Lawrence McMillan MBE, Dundonald; William King MBE, Macosquin; Tom McCracken, Craigantlet; Harold Simms, Carrickfergus; Don Wright, Magherafelt; Dermot O’Hanlon, Tandragee; William Hood, Ahoghill; William Purcell, Limavady, Wilson Holden, Killyglen and David Wallace, Muckamore.

The awards were presented in the field.
