LOUISE Brennan and Lorraine Smith of Royal Canin recently visited the CAFRE Greenmount campus near Antrim to deliver a lecture to the final year veterinary nursing students.

The lecture was on nutrition for critically ill animal patients. Topics discussed included methods of tube feeding, nutritional requirements of critically ill animals and specific diets. As part of the lecture an interactive PowerPoint presentation utilising the ‘turning point’ system was used.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and obtained useful information on how to improve their care of critically ill animal patients.
