Simms is champion at Killead event

RECENTLY crowned European Vintage Champion, Ian Simms, Carrickfergus was the Champion of the Field, ploughing world style, at Saturday’s annual match organised by Killead Ploughing Society, on the lands of Mr Henry Boyd, Ballyrobin Road, Templepatrick.

The judges were Harold Simms, Carrickfergus; Des Wright MBE, Coleraine; Tom McCracken, Craigantlet and George Murphy, Hillsborough.

The awards will be handed over at the Society’s annual presentation dinner dance, to be held in Ballyhill Orange Hall on Friday 9th November.
