THE UFU is extending a warm invitation to all UFU members to attend the 2013 President’s Area Meetings, which get underway this week. The UFU leadership team will host their first information meeting in the Killyhevlin Hotel, County Fermanagh, on Tuesday evening, followed by the Armagh City Hotel on Thursday evening.

CAP reform post 2013 will be the main focus of the PAM’s and this is an excellent opportunity for members to speak with the UFU leadership team, who are at the forefront of discussions at local, national and EU levels. The Irish presidency of the EU has just begun and there is a drive to get an agreement on CAP reform in the next six months.

Updates will also be given on a wide range of other topical farming issues.

Union president Harry Sinclair said: “The UFU is kicking off the New Year by hosting President Area Meetings across Northern Ireland’s six counties and I am looking forward to meeting as many of our members as possible at the meetings. We hope to put across as much information as possible and answer members queries if possible. There will be a meeting in each county so I hope as many farmers as possible are able to attend.”
