The UFU is hosting a Table Quiz this week among all the UFU Groups, as a fund raiser for our Africa Appeal.
To date we have raised almost £60,000 which is great news. But to complete the project we need much more, so this is the final push.
The Quiz will be held on Wednesday 17 September at 8pm in the Adair Suite, Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown.
Teams repre
senting each UFU Group are being organized by the local Group Offices.
There will be spot prizes on the night, a raffle and of course a Star Prize for the brainiest UFU Group team!– please come along and enjoy the craic.
Entry price is £5 per head and may the best team win!
The update from Kyenkando, where the UFU is planning to build a new Primary School is very positive. The Union has held a project meeting with Fields of Life and the great news is that we have been able to give the go-ahead for work to commence on the school at the beginning of October.
The new school year begins on 1 February and we have a good chance that the UFU school will be open by that date. This final push on funding will help us complete the project and carry out other very important building works such as a school kitchen and teacher accommodation (the school is in a very rural area and teaching accommodation will help attract good teachers to our locality).
Meanwhile Monday is the closing date for nominations for the UFU Sports Awards. If you know someone who has a link with local agriculture and has excelled in sport, then please send their nomination to info@ufuhq.com.
