The Ulster Farmers' Union's new leadership team would like to meet as many farmers as possible at this week's Balmoral Show.
President John Thompson and Deputy Presidents Harry Sinclair and Norman Robson will be on the UFU stand and they are looking forward to meeting as many grass roots producers as possible.
President John Thompson said: "Thousands of farming families w
ill be coming to the Show and we hope they really enjoy the trip. A couple of nice days weather would be the least the organisers deserve after putting in another huge effort to get everything in place for Wednesday morning. It will be an enjoyable occasion for many farmers and we would like to speak to as many visitors as possible. I would like to invite all farmers to call onto the UFU stand and speak to our Officebearer team. We want to hear the views from as many farmers as possible. We face very big issues, not least the review of the CAP which will mean potential changes to the Single Farm Payment. We would like to hear farmers' views on this and any other issues that they want to raise."
The joint UFU/NFU Mutual stand will as ever be providing complimentary catering for members which is always a popular feature of the show. The UFU stand next door will focus on the 17 exclusive services which are only available to UFU members. Free body warmers will also be available for any members or new members who would like to go Direct Debit with the UFU. This is proving a very popular offer.
The UFU will also be running a competition to win a full board over night stay in the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle. Make sure you call onto the UFU stand and fill out an entry form!
Countryside Services will also be stationed on the UFU Stand this year, displaying many of their products, including the current exclusive tag discount for UFU members.
The UFU Leadership team and staff are looking forward to meeting our members and the public on the Ulster Farmers' Union stand.
