SLURRY Spreading: The UFU would like to remind farmers that the closed period for slurry spreading is due to commence on 15 October 20112 and while spreading will be difficult before then, this is a Single Farm Payment Cross Compliance breach.

Silage Competition: The UFU would like to remind farmers that the closing date for the 21st UFU silage competition sponsored by John Thompson and Ecosyl is the 12th of October. Anyone wishing to enter the competition in either the Dairy, Beef & Sheep or Maize classes should contact their local UFU Group Office before Friday 12 October deadline.
