The North Antrim Group welcomed Mr Brian Jamieson as their new chairman during their AGM in February.

Brian comes to this position with a wealth of experience including being past club leader of the Glens Young Farmers where he went on to serve as County Antrim Chairman. Brian sits on the regional committee for the National Sheep Association and is the first President of the Rotary Club of Ballycastle.

Amidst all this Brian runs a very comprehensive beef and sheep enterprise in Ballintoy. As Brian brings much energy and enthusiasm to this role he is looking forward to working with all the commodity representatives to implement and deliver the next winter programme.

The group ran a very successful Emergency First Aid at Work Course in April when there were 10 participants who successfully completed this training.

Sara McCracken, Office Manager, who also completed the course said ‘this one day highly interactive course teaches the important skills and knowledge required to identify a range of first aid based emergency situations.’

The group plan to run a number of these courses throughout the year and if you are interested in attending please contact the office on 028 2766 3101 for more information.

Last week NFU Mutual Ballymoney held two financial seminars centring around investments and tax planning. Sean McCann and Keith Douglas both from NFU Mutual’s Financial Investments Division provided excellent presentations on best ways to invest your savings and tax efficiency measures. For anyone who was unable to attend and would like more information about these presentations please contact the office to arrange an appointment with NFU Mutual’s Financial Advisor Mr Alan McCann.
