The Ulster Farmers’ Union is pleased to announce that former BBC Farm Gate presenter Richard Wright has begun a consultancy contract with the UFU and will be offering advice and guidance on the Union’s public relations and communications.
UFU Chief Executive Wesley Aston said: “Richard is a well-respected journalist and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in terms of agriculture and the wider media.
“Richard’s role will very much be behind the scenes, with the aim of helping the Union better communicate with our members and ensuring issues important to farmers receive the coverage in the farming press and wider media that they deserve.
“We are very much looking forward to working with Richard and building on and enhancing our communications team.”
Richard Wright said: “I have been involved with the farming industry for a long time, and have the greatest admiration for farmers large and small and how they cope with challenges from the weather and poor prices to red tape.
“I look forward to continuing that relationship with the industry by helping the UFU underline the critical importance of the industry as Northern Ireland’s most important economic sector.”
