The North Fermanagh Group recently completed a busy winter programme, with the group AGM held at CAFRE Enniskillen.

The elections were conducted by Ivor Ferguson, UFU Deputy President. Rodney Noble was elected Group Chairman. The group wishes Rodney and the new office bearers every success in their new roles and would like to express thanks to out-going Chairman Malcolm Hurst for all his contributions over the past two years.

After the elections Ivor gave members an update, and held a discussion, on some of the current issues which are affecting local members and how the UFU is working in these areas.

The winter meetings have now come to a close. The county committee will meet in the summer to discuss next years programme. Anyone with ideas for this can contact the office.

Following another successful Dinner Dance in November 2014, a donation was recently made to Rural Support for £1,260. This is a very useful resource for farmers. The types of issues that Rural Support address include farming paperwork and bureaucracy, emotional distress, suicide risk, financial problems, inheritance issues, physical and mental health worries. If affected by any of these issues call the Rural Support helpline, in confidence, on 0845 606 7 607.

This year’s Co. Fermanagh UFU study tour is taking members to see farms in Poland. The tour takes place from 27-30 September 2015 and cost is £520 per person. If interested contact the office on 028 6632 6622 urgently to book a place, as there are only a few places left.

The UFU is changing the way in which they contact members and would like to send members useful information by email. Send your email address to enniskillen_agency@nfumutual.co.uk.
