THE South Tyrone UFU group’s third meeting of their Winter programme took the form of a Christmas cookery demonstration which took place at the start of December.

The group would like to thank the product development team at Moy Park for the demonstration and the lovely samples they brought for those attending to taste.

A turkey crown and other prizes were raffled on the night and those attending made donations to local charity Dungannon Cancer Choices. A cheque for £111 was presented to Cancer Choices by Roy Campbell, group chairman, and Alison Donaldson, group manager.

The next meeting of the South Tyrone Group will take place on Monday, 7th January at 8pm. The location is once again Dungannon Rugby Club, Moy Road, Dungannon. The speakers on the evening will be personnel from PSNI, who will be discussing ‘Rural crime in South Tyrone area’. Unfortunately the incidence of thefts from farms have become too common in recent times. Members are therefore encouraged to attend the meeting and put your points to PSNI personnel.

Kate Cairns UFU policy officer, will also be there to speak on ‘Agricultural Vehicles on the Road’. Chairman, Mr Roy Campbell, encourages members to attend this meeting as it should be a very informative.

The group office ran a Christmas colouring competition for children of primary school age. The winner of the P1-P3 category is Katie Walker from Moy Regional Primary School, the winners of the P4-P7 category are Benjamin Neill from Lisfearty Primary School and Clare Kelly from St Marys Primary School Cabragh. The group would like to thank all those that entered and for their wonderful colouring efforts.

2013 UFU diaries and wall planners are now available for collection from the group office.
