This was a great achievement and the club thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with an anniversary dinner in November at the Leighinmohr House Hotel.

It was a great night and it was great to see the last few generations of Ahoghill Young Farmers out in full force.

On the night members were extremely delighted to be able to present a cheque of £5,000 to their chosen charity Turning Point NI.

This is a worthwhile charity and Ahoghill YFC know all their fundraising has gone to a great cause.

Thanks go to all who came and made it so special for the club and members look forward to the next 85 years.

Over the last year, it was great to get involved in the local community by helping the Ahoghill in Bloom team by litter-picking, hedge cutting and weeding.

The climb were so pleased when Ahoghill in Bloom were awarded champion of champions and in November and were thrilled to be invited to celebrate with them at Stormont.

This was a night organised by MLA Philip Logan and members Rachel Gillespie and Michelle Petticrew attended and had a great night with the team.

The club kicked off the new year with their rovin’ supper meeting. Club members travelled around members’ houses and enjoyed lots of delightful dishes.

Ahoghill YFC would like to thank Fiona Speers, Oonagh Chesney and Linda Petticrew for hosting the club and providing them with such a fantastic feast.

At the beginning of January, Ahoghill YFC sent five members to Lisburn to take part in the annual bowling competition and this was a great night’s craic.

On Tuesday, February 7, Ahoghill YFC had a very active club meeting with lots of games to get their hearts pumping.

The club also received a visit from the farm family’s health van. It was a good opportunity to give both members and parents a quick health check.

Heart rates were definitely up after all the games.

Also in February, the club took a trip to Tobermore Golf Centre and enjoyed the driving range.

As the winter program is nearly drawing to a close, Ahoghill YFC are looking forward to all that comes with the summer months.

The club are looking forward to all the sports nights, stock judging competitions and they won’t forget a trip to the Balmoral Show.
