Beef and sheep stockjudging heats continue

YFCU’s annual beef and sheep stock judging county and area heats, run in association with Ulster Bank, are currently taking place at farms throughout Northern Ireland.

Co Antrim held their heat on Tuesday 26th June 2012 at McWhirter’s farm, Cullybackey. 155 competitors took part. The beef judges were Tom Topping, Paul Taylor, Ian Laughlin, Joe Bamford and Rodney Ardbuckle and the sheep judges were Alastair Barkley, David Towens, Ian McCaugheren, Karol McCarragher and Clarence Calderwood. YFCU would like to take this opportunity to thank the judges for their time and expertise and thank the McWhirter family for hosting this event.

The results for the Co Antrim beef and sheep stock judging are as follows:

Beef

12-14 age group:

1, Colin Henry, Kilraughts YFC; 2, David Rea, Lylehill YFC; 3, Erinn Ramsay, Kilraughts YFC; 4, Thomas McNeill, Kilraughts YFC .

14-16 age group (this group was split into two groups due to large volume of competitors)

Group one:

1, joint, Megan Uprichard, Lylehill YFC and Robert Orr, Glarryford YFC; 3, Colin James McVicker, Kilraughts YFC; 4, Rachel McCord, Holestone YFC.

Group two:

1, Andrew Pyper, Finvoy YFC; 2,Mark McConnell, Straid YFC; 3, Jamie McCowan, Straid YFC; 4, joint, Tom Boreland, Kilraughts YFC and Stephanie McIlroy, Gleno Valley YFC 16-18 age group:

1, Mark McAlister, Moycraig YFC; 2, Jonathan Watson, Ahoghill YFC; 3, Carol Crawford, Lisnamurrican YFC; 4, Jonathan Bartlett, Kilraughts YFC.

18-21 age group:

1, Colin McAlister, Moycraig YFC; 2, Melissa Millar, Lisnamurrican YFC; 3, Timothy McAuley, Finvoy YFC; 4, John Crawford, Lisnamurrican YFC.

21-25 age group:

1, Carolyn Agnew, Straid YFC; 2, James Hughes, Randalstown YFC; 3, James Buchanan, Gleno Valley YFC; 4, Robert McConaghy, Moycraig YFC.

Sheep

12-14 age group:

1, Mark Millar, Kells & Connor YFC; 2, joint, Rebecca McConnell, Straid YFC and David Jamison, Kilraughts YFC; 4, joint, David Rea, Lylehill YFC and Adrianna Coulter, Straid YFC.

14-16 age group (this group was split into two groups due to large volume of competitors):
