The club has an active role in the organisation of the Londonderry and Limavady Show with members assisting with car parking and running events such as Tug O’ War.

A massive ‘thank you’ goes to all the members who helped out with the car parking and also at the club stand.

Thanks to Eakin Bros for sponsoring the speedometer on the front of their Isuzu jeep.

City of Derry YFC held a Tug o’ War competition in the main arena at 3pm. The club would like to thank all the Tug o’ War teams who travelled from near and far.

The event was a great success with six mens teams competing, City of Derry, County Londonderry, Derg Valley, Lisnamurrican, Finvoy and Donegal and Derry Vipers. Two ladies teams also took part, City of Derry and Lisnamurrican.

Well done to Derg Valley YFC for holding their title three years in a row as they claimed first place once again. Lisnamurrican took second place with Finvoy taking third.

Congratulations goes to the City of Derry girls who were the winners of the ladies section.

Thanks goes to McCartney and Company, and Lawrence Deehan for the sponsors.

This year the show introduced a Home Industries section for the Young Farmers’ Clubs.

Well done to Lauren Griffith who came first with her homemade cupcakes; Gemma McCollum who was third with her homemade jam and also third in the homemade bread section. Hannah McCollum got highly commended in the homemade jam section.

A great day was had by all and members are now looking forward to what the 2016/2017 programme has in store.
