In order to mark the occasion, Derg Valley YFC decided to donate all proceedings raised to the Multiple Sclerosis Society branch in Castlederg.

A fantastic total of 89 tractors of all shapes, sizes and colours arrived to show their support.

Once all tractors had been registered and a few photographs taken to mark the occasion, the run began at 2pm following club leader Robert Keatley who was in a tractor kindly provided by David Forgie for the event.

The route saw drivers leaving Castlederg Surgery car park and going to Victoria Bridge, Newtownstewart, Baronscourt, Drumlegagh, Drumquin Road before returning to Castlederg.

On their return, the participants were greeted by the lovely smell of a barbecue and enjoyed a burger or two, followed by speeches and the presentation of prizes.

With a combination of the funds raised from the run, the barbecue and the generous donations given, Derg Valley Young Farmers are pleased to have raised a fantastic total of £2,267.

This money was then proudly presented to the MS society during one of their meetings at Derg Valley Care.

Derg Valley YFC would like to say a massive thank you to all those who supported the event in various ways including all 89 tractor drivers who participated in the run, to those who kindly provided donations, to DA Forgie, to Drew Stewart for the lend of the barbecue and lastly to the spectators who came to support the event.
