AT the public speaking final on 5th November Mark McAuley grabbed first place in the prepared 18-21 category and his brother Andrew McAuley gained third place in the prepared 21-25 years.
Margaret Dunlop also gained third place in the 18-21 years impromptu category. Congratulations to Jessica Byers who gained second place in the 15-16 years category at the demonstration/presentation competition at Greenmount.
At the end of November Glarryford headed to Omagh Academy for the group debating finals. Congratulations to Joshua Park, Shakeel Mohammed and Suzanne Reid who gained first place in the 12-14 category and to Rachael Frew, Cathy Knowles and Robyn McCormick who gained second place in the 21-25 category.
Glarryford YFC also held the home management competition at their hall which included making a Christmas stocking, a photo frame, wrapping a rugby ball and bandaging a club member in a sling.
Congratulations to Ruth McCloy who gained first place, Emma Johnston, second, Cathy Knowles, third and Rachael Frew, fourth. Good luck for the final girls.
On Friday 23rd November Glarryford held their annual club dinner and prizegiving in the Ross Park Hotel. The club would like to thank everyone who came to support the club and especially to guest speaker Roberta Simmons for travelling such a long distance and giving a great speech on the benefits of Young Farmers’ Club as an organisation.
Congratulations to all those who won prizes and the club hopes it encourages everyone to take part in forthcoming competitions.
Congratulations to the YFCU deputy president who won a night’s stay at the Ross Park Hotel after competing in various challenges in the red or black game.
