First up was the club’s annual sports night on the 17th June which saw many past and present members of the YFCU attend.

Teams from across the county belted it out on the football pitch and tug-o-war rope. The club would like to thank everyone for coming along to support the club.

Jessica Reid and Jayne Cruickshank also attended the stock judging finals day on 7th July 2016 where Jessica Reid was placed third in the beef stock judging.

Cast members of the Three Act Play ‘Anyone Could Rob A Bank’ loaded to the seaside performing for four nights to almost sold out audience in the Summer Theatre.

Next up was the tag rugby competition at Ballymoney Rugby Club on the 27th July 2016 which saw Glarryford enter both a senior and junior team and although not successful in getting to the next stage, everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking part.

Heading into August, the club had many events planned. Both John Gregg and Jessica Reid hosted Scottish, Norwegian and Latvian members from the European Rally to show them tourist attractions of Northern Ireland.

The following weekend (5th August 2016) the club welcomed 24 Scottish Young Farmers from Brechin YFC for a weekend of touring Northern Ireland.

Both clubs had a fantastic weekend and Glarryford cannot wait to return to Brechin in November.

Members were then busy preparing for their annual barbecue which was held on the 20th August 2016.

The club would like to thank everyone who helped make the evening such a success and also those who came along to support the club.

Lastly, the summer club meeting was held on 23rd August 2016 and this saw many new and old faces turn up for a night of slippery rounders and pizza- a change of clothes was necessary!

The first club meeting is a games night on the 12th September 2016 at 7.30pm.

The club meets every second and fourth Monday of each month in Glarryford Farmers Hall.

This is a great opportunity for anyone thinking of joining to come along and hear what the young farmers is about as well as meet new faces.

The Young Farmers is open to everyone aged 12 years upwards or heading in to secondary school in September.
