Ballymoney show also saw the tug-o-war competition go from strength to strength; on the night Straid YFC team were victorious with Randalstown YFC and Finvoy YFC taking second and third place respectively.

With YFCU hosting the European Rally from 30th July – 6th August 2016, the theme for the week is Bridging Diversity, Growing Together. With this in mind it was decided the theme for this year’s Build It competition would be for members to build a bridge.

Wednesday 8th June saw Tesco car park in Antrim taken over by Co Antrim YFC members, armed with drills and saws in order to complete their task.

The sun shone once again as members sawed, sanded and painted their way to completion with judge Robert Shaw awarding Kilraughts YFC first place on the evening with Ahoghill YFC and Kells and Connor YFC also being placed.

Co Antrim committee wishes Kilraughts YFC all the best at the finals where they will have to build a display box for the well known European Rally Bell.

Thanks must also go to Tesco for their continued sponsorship of the competition and for the use of their car park on the evening.

A big thank you must also go to the judge for the evening Robert Shaw for giving up his time to come, along watch the members take part and have the tough task of deciding a winner.

The fun doesn’t stop there as members are eagerly awaiting Antrim Agricultural Show on Saturday 23rd July at Shane’s Castle, Antrim.

This sees the annual Co Antrim competitions day. Competitions will begin at 12.30pm if you would like to come along and support your local club.
