Supported by Moy Park, the YFCU’s community events sponsor, and run in association with Tesco and Dunbia, the YFCU programme gave over 100 pupils from Tandragee Junior High School the opportunity to learn about all the stages involved in the food chain from production to retail.

Speakers at the event included Corrina Fleming, YFCU Programmes Coordinator, Ian Danton, Manager of Tesco Portadown and Moy Park Site Trainer, Laura Browne.

The event gave pupils the chance to find out more about the food chain and the importance of using local produce. It also gave them the opportunity to find out about the many career options available in the agri-industry and about the work and activities of YFCU.

Since the programme ‘From Field to Fork’ began five years ago, over 2,000 pupils from schools all over Northern Ireland have been involved.

If your school would be interested in having the programme delivered to pupils please contact Corrina Fleming at YFCU on 02890 370713 or email [email protected].
