THE Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster is calling on its Junior members not to miss out on the opportunity to travel on the Association's Junior Trip 2008 to Krakow in Poland.
Due to the success last year's Junior Exchange, the YFCU has organised a trip with a difference to Junior Members (members under 18 years and those who will be 16 this summer) to visit Krakow, the cultural capital of Poland.
Krakow looks like it has
fallen straight out of a fairytale book, with its bustling market square, spiraling gothic towers, castles and legends about dragons. Participants who travel in the trip will spend four days exploring the narrow backstreets, hidden courtyards and the network of underground cellars and tunnels.
Excursions will include visits to Rynek Glowny, (Main Market Square) in the heart of the city, which was once the largest square in Medieval Europe; Wawel Hill, The Royal Castle and Cathedral, to see the gothic castle where Polish Kings ruled from and an excursion to the bones of Smok Wawelski, the mythical dragon of Wawel Hill. There will also be a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former Nazi concentration camp, where millions of Jews were killed during the Second World War.
The Junior Trip will cost £450 per person, including flights, accommodation and food. Any Junior members who are interested in taking up the opportunity of traveling on the Junior Exchange 2008 should complete the application form that has been sent to Junior members and return it to Headquarters by Monday 21st April 2008.
o Those who want to find out more information on this year's Junior Trip should contact Maggie Watson at YFCU Headquarters on 028 90370713.
