Golden anniversary celebrations kick-off

RANDALSTOWN have had a busy start to their 50th anniversary year. The first big event was the club's AGM meeting, where members were elected for different positions in the club.
The new committee elected is as follows: club president, Alexander Walker; deputy president, Colin Miller; club leader, Alexander Bell; assistant club leader, Rodger McAteer; club secretary (joint), Caroline Thompson and Sarah Thompson; assistant clu
b secretary, Zoe McAteer; treasurer, Suzanne McNeilly; assistant treasurer, Joy McQuitty; PRO, Gemma Weir; council representative, Christopher Alexander; head catering officer, Julie Nesbitt; boy's sports coordinator, David Allen; girl's sports coordinator, Gemma Weir; extra committee, David Thompson, Michael Rodgers and Robert Smyth.
The YFCU held their art and craft competition in February where club member Sarah Thompson gained first place and Pearson Johnston gained third place in the craft competition.
Meanwhile, in March the club held their annual church service at which they raised £400 from the collection. The club has presented Michael Higgins with the cheque of £400 to Marie Curie Cancer Care. The club extends their thanks to all who kindly donated money.
The main event of the year will be the anniversary dinner which will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009, in Rosspark Hotel, with entertainment provided by Plug and Dominic. For tickets or any other information please contact Alexander Bell on 07709164355 or Caroline Thompson on 07801826755.
