HOLESTONE Young Farmers' Club showed its charitable side recently by pulling a tractor from Asda in Ballyclare to the donkey derby in Parkgate, in aid of Diabetes UK.
With the weather brightening and a full turnout of members, the day was a guaranteed success. Thanks are extended to all businesses which kindly sponsored members, to the public who donated, and those who sponsored individual club members.
Thanks also go Christine Kirkwood, of Station Café, for refreshments provided, and members for helping out on the day and the PSNI for escorting participants from Ballyclare to Parkgate.
The charity event was part of Holestone YFC's 65th anniversary celebrations. In addition to the tractor pull, the club will host an anniversary dinner dance in the Rosspark Hotel on Saturday, February 28. All friends, family, past and present members are welcome.
If aged 12 and over, and are interested in becoming part of Holestone YFC., come along to the next club meeting - tepin bowling - on Tuesday, September 30, at the club hall on Grange Road at 8pm.
For more information, contact club leader, Neil Hunter, on 07790477816, or secretary, Melanie McClean, on 07935160928.
