MONEYMORE YFC polished of their football boots once again for the county sports night which was held on Drummond Cricket Club on May 7.
The club had a great turn out with not only a girls team entering (like previous years), but the boys also managed to tear themselves away from the milking for long enough to enter as well.
With it being a World Cup summer both teams had high expec
tations when they kicked off their matches, dreaming of final glory with last minute winning goals.
Alas it wasn't to be. Although both teams tried hard they soon found out there talents where more like Ballinamallard than Brazil.
After all of the running and shouting about on the football pitch, Moneymore made their way inside to take a chance at the farm safety quiz, which was a questionnaire on how much you know about farm safety.
All 10 members took part in this and they had some surprising results as JR Blair came first in under 18 farm safety, William Lennox came first in over 18 farm safety and Zita Blair, Kathryn McAllister and Lynsey McAllister all earned joint first in the girls farm safety.
Even though Moneymore hadn't much success on the pitch they proved once again that its brains not brawn that counts in the end.
Moneymore YFC will be holding their annual 12th Night Disco at the Magherabouy House Hotel for over 18s. For further information on Moneymore YFC feel free to contact David on 07834676690 or Zita on 07526494874.
