MEMBERS from the Rural Youth Europe Autumn Seminar, hosted by YFCU, visited Stormont on Tuesday 28th October 2008.
The group of twenty delegates from countries throughout Europe, along with members from YFCU, had the opportunity to meet Jeffrey Donaldson MP MLA who gave the group a talk on the Northern Ireland Assembly and then conducted a question and answer time with the delegates.
Following this the group had a tour of the Parliament Buildings and learnt about the history of the NI Assembly. YFCU President, Adrian Cooper, said;
"The tour of Stormont was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It provided the members of the Seminar team the opportunity to learn more about the history of Northern Ireland and gave them the chance to explore further this year's Seminar theme, 'Democracy: Youth's Voice".
This year's Autumn Seminar was based at Mill Rest Hostel in Bushmills and the delegates undertook a busy timetable of workshops, talks and visits to tourist attractions throughout the Province.
