The club was sponsored by J D Townley and Son, Claas, Greenville, Farmview Dairies Ltd, Martin Hanna and Partners and Agricrete Construction Company Ltd. Thanks are extended to the sponsors for their kind donations to the club.
The new rugby and sp
orts shirts mark a new era in the life of the Moneyrea club for the next 75 years. "May it continue long into the future and be able to support its members and encourage new members to join," said a club spokesperson.
As part of Moneyrea's 75th anniversary year, everyone is looking forward to the summer programme, especially the joint barbecue, go-karting and the day-trip.
It's well done to members who took part in the soil assessment and tractor driving competition. The club was well represented, and congratulations go to Johnny Connolly and Johnny Orr who secured a third and fourth place in the tractor driving event. They go through to the next round at Castlewellan Show.
The Moneyrea club took part in the girls' five-a-side football competition at Loughview Sports Centre, Dungannon. The girls did well in all their games but, unfortunately, didn't get through to the next round. Thanks go to William and Andrew McMordie for coaching the girls. Congratulations are extended to the boys' tug-of-war team who, despite giving their all, were unsuccessful. Thanks go to William McMordie, who coached.
