STRAID Young Farmers' Club held its annual general meeting recently in Straid Orange Hall.
County Antrim committee member, John Fergusonl, chaired the meeting.
Following comprehensive secretary and treasurer's reports, all committee positions were declared vacant.
The new office-bearers for 2008/2009 are:
Club leader: Jenni Coulter; ass
istant club leader: Robert Boyd; secretary: Carolyn Agnew; assistant secretary: Elaine Paisley.
Treasurer: Clive McIlroy; assistant treasurer: Colin Smith; public relations officer: Alan Boyd; assistant public relations officer: Andrew Boyd.
Representative to the county: Roger Little; representative to the Ulster Farmers' Union: Thomas Smith.
Competitions committee: Darren Smith, Peter Boyd, Gillian Hunter and Pamela Dorman.
Catering organiser: Jenna Flynn; catering assistants: Janette Maybin, Hannah Steele, Claire McNiell.
Committee members: Gregg Stewart, Aaran Stewart, Sam Agnew, Graeme Agnew and Joel Flynn.
A group of members met in Ballynure recently en route to Antrim police station. Members were given a tour and demonstration of the Antrim area riot training centre.
An enjoyable evening was had by all and thanks go to Antrim police station and Darren Smith for arranging the visit.
The Straid club will hold its annual parents' night on Thursday, April 4, in First Ballyeaston Presbyterian Church Hall at 8pm.
Members are presently busy with rehearsals for the big night which is jam-packed with club sketches, Straid choir and the dreaded club scandal. It should be a night full of fun, and everyone is welcome.
