YFCU's annual Dairy Stockjudging County and Area Heats, run in association with Ulster Bank, are currently taking place across the Province.
The heats began with the Co Londonderry heats on Tuesday, March 30th which were held in Moneymore on Alec Brown's farm. Some 93 competitors came along to test their dairy stockjudging skills.
On Thursday, April 2 the Co Antrim heat took place at Wallace Gregg's farm on the Frosses Road. The fine weather encouraged 148 competitors to the Co Antrim heats.
YFCU President, Adrian Cooper, said: "To have such a good turn out at the first two heats of the Dairy Stockjudging competition reflects the popularity of this event and we hope that the support continues for the final two heats.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ulster Bank for their continued support with the Stockjudging Competition and to thank their representatives who attended the heats. I'd also like to thank the judges and stewards who gave their time to help run the heats and of course, the farmers and their families who hosted the heats."
