DERG Valley Young Farmers' Club (YFC) held their annual charity Tractor Run on Sunday 6th July 2008.
The event kicked off at 2pm from Castlederg and the tractors travelled to Victoria Bridge, up the Newtownstewart bypass, through Newtownstewart, back via Barnscourt and back to Castlederg on the Drumquin Road.
Stephanie Clarke (Derg Valley YFC), one of the organisers of the event, said;
"We are thrilled at the success of this year's event. Over 100 tractors turned up with John Deeres leading the way. After the Tractor Run, the participants enjoyed a barbeque that we hosted and all proceeds raised at the event will go to the Claire Caldwell Comfort Fund.
Claire was a member of Derg Valley YFC but tragically she was involved in a serious road accident in 2005 which has left her in need of 24 hour care. We wanted to raise awareness of this worthy charity."
Derg Valley YFC has asked for any outstanding sponsorship to be given to a club official as soon as possible so the final figure can be counted. The club would also like to thank everyone who took part in the event and to those who supported it. It was very much appreciated by the Club and Claire's family.
