ULSTER Bank has announced the company's continued support of the Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) with the sponsorship of the Association's annual portfolio of Stock Judging Competitions and Northern Ireland Quiz at a lunch with the staff from the bank and the YFCU.
Senior Agricultural Manager for Ulster Bank, Cormac McKervey welcomed YFCU members and staff to the company's head office and highlighted the valuable work undertaken by the Association in developing rural youth in Northern Ireland.
"We are delighted to continue our longstanding support of Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster. Recent improved returns in most agricultural sectors are giving young people more encouragement to stay in the industry and YFCU is playing an invaluable role in developing young people in the rural community.
Our sponsorship of the YFCU Stock Judging Competitions and the YFCU annual Northern Ireland Quiz in 2008 help demonstrate our commitment to the organisation and we are delighted to see it continue to grow and evolve as a significant part of rural life" said Cormac.
YFCU President Adrian Cooper attended the event and thanked Ulster Bank for the company's long term support of the Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster, one that spans over 20 years.
"The YFCU has a very unique relationship with the Ulster Bank due to the long term nature of the partnership. The bank has been supporting our Stock Judging portfolio for 23 years for which we are tremendously grateful," said Adrian.
"While we are always appreciative of this sponsorship, we are also indebted to Ann and Cormac and all the staff from the bank for their hands on approach and assistance that they give at the each of the events.
The Stock Judging competitions still attract large numbers of our membership for the skills that are developed through participation in them. We are extremely grateful to the Ulster Bank for helping us bring these to our membership and for the company's continued support of the YFCU Northern Ireland Quiz as well," he added.
The 2008 YFCU Stock Judging Competitions will take the form of area heats and this year will see the heats take place in the evening time. Dates for these will be confirmed in due course. The YFCU Ulster Bank Northern Ireland Quiz will take place on Friday March 7th, 2008 at CAFRE Loughry Campus. For more information on both events members should contact Kerry Megrath at YFCU Headquarters on 028 90 370713.
