Beef bred cows sold to £1,130 at Markethill Mart

An entry of 210 cull cows at Markethill on Tuesday 28th November continued to sell in an excellent trade for all classes of cows.

Beef bred cows sold steadily from £135 to £153 per 100kg paid for 740kg at £1,130 from Clogher producer.

Top price £1,255 for 820kg Simmental (153) Armagh farmer.

Flesh Friesian cows sold steadily from £110 to £118 per 100kg for 730kg at £865 from a Kilkeel farmer.

Top price Friesian £930 for a 790kg (117) from a Middletown farmer.

Second quality Friesians from £90 to £105 per 100kg and the poorest types from £60 to £80 per 100kg.

Clean cattle sold from £175 to £195 per 100kg for 620kg at £1,210 from a Forkhill producer.

Clean Friesian cattle sold from £130 to £149 per 100kg for 680kg Friesian at £1,015.

Top price Friesian £1,080 for 730kg from a Rathfriland farmer.
