Beef Business Development Group now up and running
Twenty suckler cow farmers farming land from the shores of Lough Neagh to the top of the Belfast Hills have been meeting to share experiences and find better ways of doing things.
They formed as a College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Business Development Group (BDG 99) earlier this year.
There are many things which they wish to discuss over the course of the five year programme.

Already they have considered the breeding, fertility and management of their cows and have compared management of their hill and lowland farms.
Many aim to develop their businesses with the aid of benchmarking and development plans.
They are supported by their CAFRE Beef and Sheep Development Adviser, John Sands.
