110 rams are catalogued for sale, 34 shearling rams and 76 ram lambs.

Some of these rams are eligible for the Vaughan Trust.

As well as his pedigree Charollais Flock David along with his father Jim runs a commercial flock so he is well aware of the importance of buying a good ram.

He said: “Paying that bit extra for a better quality ram can make a tremendous difference to the standard of the lambs on the ground next year which can make a big difference to the cheque when you are selling.”

The Charollais breed continues to go from strength to strength with Charollais rams being much sought after by producers.

The hard working disposition of the rams combined with their easy lambing ability has contributed to the continued growth in demand for Charollais rams.

When you combine these with their fast growth, great muscling and high kill-out it’s not hard to see why Charollais commands such respect within the sheep industry.
