An entry of 760 cattle at Markethill on Saturday, 26th October maintained a very firm trade in all rings.

The 260 heifers sold in a steady demand with good quality forward heifers selling from £260 – £314 per 100k for 606k at £1900 for a Loughbrickland producer. The same owner received £313/100k for 560k at £1760. An Armagh producer also received £313/100k for 560k at £1750.

Heavy heifers sold to a top £302/100k for 650k at £1960 from a Dungannon producer. The same owner received £297/100k for 660k at £1970. Main demand for good quality heavy heifers from £260 - £285 per 100k.

Good quality grazing heifers sold to a top of £328/100k for 366k at £1200 from an Annaghmore farmer. An Armagh producer received £325/100k for 498k at £1620 and an Annaghmore farmer received £320/100k for 500k at £1600. All good quality midweight heifers sold from £260-£310/100k.

The 170 bullocks sold in a steady demand. Good quality forward feeding bullocks sold up to £334/100k paid twice to a Moira producer for 512k at £1710 and 524k at £1750. A Loughbrickland farmer received £327/100k for 608k at £1990. All good quality forward bullocks sold steadily from £260 - £326/100k.

Heavy bullocks to £284/100k for 740k at £2100 from a Cullyhanna farmer, followed by £281/100k for 656k at £1840 from a Tandragee farmer. An Armagh producer received £280/100k for 714k at £2000. All good quality heavy bullocks from £260 - £280/100k.

Midweight steers sold to £324/100k for 500k at £1710 from a Moira farmer. A Gilford producer received £327/100k for 422k at £1380. All good quality midweight steers from £270- £320/100k.

The 310 weanlings sold in a very firm demand with good quality light males to £396/100k for 240k at £950 from a Rathfriland farmer, followed by £376/100k for 258k at £970 from a Caledon farmer. A Downpatrick farmer received £370/100k for 300k at £1110. All good quality light males sold steadily from £310 - £369/100k. Stronger males sold up to £371/100k for 404k at £1500 from a Newry producer. The same owner received £368/100k for 408k at £1500. All good quality lots from £260-£328/100k.

Good quality heifer weanlings sold from £300-£406/100k for 308k at £1250 from a Downpatrick farmer, followed by £384/100k for 294k at £1130 from a Castlewellan farmer. A Keady producer received £375 for 264k at £990. All good quality lots from £280 - £360/100k.
