Linden Foods, the award winning meat processor from Dungannon, is getting ready to take part in a new interactive and inspiring two-day Skills NI event on the 8th and 9th November at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast.

The inaugural careers conference will connect many of our talented young people with job, career and skills opportunities across Northern Ireland and Linden Foods plan to showcase the agri-food industry and their vast array of prospective jobs.

Hundreds of schools and colleges across Northern Ireland will be invited to attend with free entry for students and teachers.  An evening open night will encourage parents and family groups to visit, enabling these important influencers to get up to date help, advice and guidance from the experts and facilitate the young people in making the right future career decisions.

Linden Foods is a market leader within the Northern Ireland and UK fresh meat processing industry, sourcing and processing top quality beef and lamb to a wide range of retail multiples in the UK, Ireland and Europe.  The company employs over 1,000 people across three sites and have a proven track record in investing in staff development and up-skilling.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Angela Givan, HR Director at Linden Foods, said: “We are very excited to showcase Linden Foods at the inaugural SKILL NI event. The agri-food sector plays a significant role in the Northern Ireland economy and we believe Linden Foods contributes to the global success of our province’s food products. Like all leading manufacturers we have a fantastic team behind us. Our people are the most important element in our business and we hope to explain this to the next generation and give them an insight into our industry and the potential opportunities.

“The government is committed to future growth in the sector and have a clear strategy moving forward. So it is only prudent that we are pro-active and promote ourselves as an employer of choice. We want to attract quality candidates for vacancies across a variety of departmental functions and roles now and in the future and look forward to face to face contact with the hundreds of students, giving them an interactive virtual reality experience of the processing plant and production lines and also will let them sample some delicious local meat.”
