Markethill Mart: Top price of £1,340 for 640kg Charolais

Cattle trade continued to be very firm at Markethill on Saturday 25th November with a very pleasing entry in each ring.

Over 250 store and beef cattle continued to sell in an improving trade, particularly to good quality lots.

HEIFERS

Good quality heavy heifers sold steadily from £195 to £220 per 100kg with a top of £232 per 100kg for 512kg at £1,190 for Tassagh farmer, followed by £222 per 100kg for a 580kg Hereford heifer at £1,300.

Top price of £1,340 for 640kg Charolais for Loughgall farmer.

Good quality mid-weight heifers sold from £200 to £226 per 100kg for 490kg at £1,125 from a Tullyvallan farmer.

Second quality heifers sold steadily from £175 to £190 per 100kg.
