Charolais bullock sells for £1995 at Markethill Mart

Another good entry of 650 cattle at Markethill on Saturday 13th March continued to sell in a very strong trade for all classes of stock.

The highlight of the sale was top price of £1995 paid for a 1010k Charolais bullock £197 from a Castlewellan producer.

Heifers

180 heifers sold in a very firm trade with good quality beef heifers selling from £205 to £221 per 100 kilos for 714k at £1575 from a Keady producer followed by £219 per 100 kilos for 650k at £1425 from a Keady producer.

Good quality forward feeding heifers sold from £210 to £237 per 100 kilos with a top of £271 per 100 kilos for 630k at £1715 from a Loughgall farmer followed by £241 per 100 kilos for 636k at £1535 from a Lisbellaw producer.

Good quality middleweights sold steadily from £210 to £245 per 100 kilos for 456k at £1115 from a Lisbellaw farmer followed by £240 per 100 kilos for 406k at £975 from a Dungannon producer.

Top price middleweight £1135 from 486k £234 from a Newtownhamilton producer.
