The Ulster Farmers’ Union would like to notify members that the deadline to complete a transfer of entitlements for the 2020 Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) is May 4, 2020.

A representative from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs said: “To date, over 3,000 entitlement transfers for the 2020 scheme year have bene completed by farm businesses, an increase of 19 percent compared to 2019.

“We would urge those farmers who need to complete an entitlement transfer, to please do so by the closing date of 4 May 2020, otherwise the entitlements will not take effect until the 2021 scheme year.”
