Ewes selling to £111 at Swatragh Mart

A grand show of over 1200 head was presented at Swatragh Livestock Mart on Saturday, which resulted in a very strong trade for all types.

1000 lambs were presented for sale, topping at £99.00 for heavy sorts. 195 ewes were put forward for sale, topping at £111 for good quality ewes.

Heavy weight lambs: Swatragh producer; 24.5kg at £96.50 = 3.94p; Draperstown producer; 30kg at £95.00 = 3.17p; Ballymoney producer; 26kg at £92.00 = 3.54p; Magherafelt producer; 25kg at £93.00 = 3.72p and Coleraine producer; 28kg at £94.00 = 3.36p.

Midweight lambs: Cookstown producer; 24.5kg at £91.00 = 3.71p; Draperstown producer; 24kg at £94.00 = 3.92p; Swatragh producer; 24.9kg at £93.50 = 3.76p; Dungannon producer; 23kg at £95.00 = 4.13p; Dungiven producer; 23.3kg at £95.00 = 4.09p; Draperstown producer; 24.8kg at £93.50 = 3.78p; Draperstown producer; 22.5kg at £88.00 = 3.91p and Dungiven producer; 22.8kg at £89.50 = 3.93p.

Lightweight lambs: Aughnacloy producer; 20kg at £87.00 = 4.35p; Castlerock producer; 20kg at £84.00 = 4.20p; Castledawson producer; 20.5kg at £82.00 = 4.00p; Draperstown producer; 19.4kg at £85.00 = 4.38p; Castlerock producer; 19.7kg at £84.00 = 4.26p and Culnady producer; 18.5kg at £81.50 = 4.41p.
