Heavy lambs selling from £142 to £148 each at Markethill Mart

An entry of 1170 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 12th May returned a very strong trade in all sections.

The 560 spring lambs maintained an excellent trade.

Good quality lightweights sold from 620p to 662p per kilo for 21.6 kilos at £143 each for a Jerrettspass farmer followed by 21.8k at £143 656p per kilo for a Jerrettspass producer.

Heavy lambs sold from £142 to £148 each and from 560p per kilo to 600p per kilo for 24k at £144 each for a Dungannon farmer followed by 24.5k £146 596p per kilo for a Portadown producer.

The 360 cull ewes sold to £156 each.

Fleshed ewes sold from £110 to £148 each.

Plainer ewes from £80 to £100 each.

Over 100 lots of ewes and lambs had a 100% clearance.

Doubles sold to £290 with several more from £240 to £285 each.

Singles sold from £180 to £260 each.
