Heifers selling to £1705 at Markethill Mart

An entry of 530 cattle at Markethill on Saturday 8th May continued to sell in a very firm trade in all rings with prices slightly firmer on the week.

Heifers

140 heifers included several pens of good quality beef heifers which sold to a top of £252 per 100 kilos for 678k Limousin at £1705 from a Katesbridge farmer.

The same owner received £239 per 100 kilos for 676k at £1615.

All top quality beef heifers sold from £220 to £239 per 100 kilos.

Forward feeding heifers sold steadily from £215 to £236 per 100 kilos for 590k at £1405 from a Katesbridge producer followed by £233 for 564k at £1315 from a Dungannon producer.

Good quality middleweight heifers sold steadily from £210 to £239 per 100 kilos for 500k at £1195 from a Keady farmer followed by £238 per 100 kilos for 392k at £935 from a Clady producer.
