Due to the current restrictions sadly the club’s usual summer activities are postponed for this year.

However, in line with this year’s president’s theme ‘90 years of Change and Challenge’, the club decided to do their bit to help the local community.

The club decided to hold a collection for the local Foodbank, based in Shore Street Presbyterian Church.

Club members also want to congratulate Joanna Caughey, who was placed third in the county heat of junior member of the year, Alison Rea, who was placed third in the county treasurer of the year and club secretary, Hayley Rae-Hopkins, who was placed first in Co Down and third in Northern Ireland most efficient secretary competitions.

At county level, Donaghadee YFC came second in the best club section, which is a great achievement and shows the hard work and enthusiasm of the club’s members.

Members are also taking part in the YFCU Big Clean Up Challenge, lifting litter and tidying up unsightly areas in their community.

The club committee have scheduled their first virtual meeting to plan ahead so they have lots to look forward to.

Those still needing to collect their club coat can either contact Alison or text Hayley on the club telephone for details.

Donaghadee YFC hope all their members, friends and supporters are staying safe during these uncertain times and they look forward to being able to meet together again.
