Mourne sheepdog Meg is just picture perfect

When Thompsons launched a photo competition to raise funds to support their charity partner Marie Curie, they didn’t expect that the quality of photos would be at such a professional level.

Using the brief that the photo should be ‘Part of the Landscape’, prize winner Rachel Mulligan from Ballymartin, entered a photo taken not far from her own back yard. Using her young sheepdog, ‘Causeway Meg’, Rachel had the help of her sister who waved a stick behind her, to get Meg’s attention and ultimately the perfect shot.

Thompsons called on professional photographer David Scott to ensure that a knowledgeable eye was used to select to the top photographs and he was blown away by the standard of photos that people had taken. The landscape in Rachel’s photo was one that David couldn’t go past, with the perfect modelling of dog Meg in the centre of the shot. There were also snowy sheep, comical cows and many other brilliant photos chosen for the final winning line up.

Well done to everyone as David really had a tough time choosing and it was a super opportunity to see everyone’s #partofthelandscape, while supporting a very worthwhile charity. The amount to be donated to Marie Curie will be announced soon, but in the meantime Thompsons would like to wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and thank you for your support throughout 2020.
