Moy Park and Marie Curie reach milestone

Moy Park staff enjoying a virtual coffee morning last year, in aid of Marie Curie. Moy Park’s partnership with the charity has raised a total of £44,000.

Since 2018, Moy Park team members have raised awareness and an impressive £22,000 in donations for the charity through a variety of activities, including mountain climbing, competing in marathons and cycle relays, and most recently hosting a virtual tea party, helping colleagues catch up and relax during lockdown.

With the company match funding this figure, £44,000 will now be donated to Marie Curie.

All funds raised will help Marie Curie provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes and at the charity’s nine hospices across the UK.

Anne Hannan, Partnerships Manager at Marie Curie said: “The past number of years have been incredibly challenging for many.

“Since Covid-19 in particular the charity sector has taken a huge hit, with most fundraising events cancelled.

“But Marie Curie nurses have continued to work on the frontline throughout the pandemic, caring for people at end of life in our hospices and in people’s homes across the UK.

“Our partnership with Moy Park has been fantastic with everyone in the company coming together as one big team with one goal, to support the work of Marie Curie across the country and improve the lives of people coping with terminal illness.

“This teamwork and dedication resulted in just over £44,000 being raised and we want to say sincere thank you on behalf of all at Marie Curie. This is an amazing result from a truly brilliant partnership.”
