This year the popular event will be held at Clogher Valley Livestock Market in Clogher, Co. Tyrone.

With strict Covid protocols still in place and the demand still there for top quality calves the club decided the sale will go on!

The club have been working closely with the HSE and DAERA in relation to the event and have agreed on that basis it will take the format of a sale only this year. There are 50 top quality show potential calves entered from some of the top commercial herds in Northern Ireland. This year the event will be an evening sale, commencing at 7pm sharp.

Calves will be sold in breed order - with Limousin, Charolais, British Blue, Blonde and Native bred cattle all entered there will be something for everyone.

There will be restricted numbers of buyers allowed into the livestock ring this year and all buyers must be pre-registered with the market before sale. There will also be an online bidding option using Clogher marts online system Martbids.ie

All buyers must be confirmed by the market in advance.

The Club will be sharing exhibitor pictures on Facebook on the week leading up to the sale and videos will be available during the day of the sale for buyers in advance of the sale.

Speaking on behalf of Clogher Market Robert Simpson said: “We are really looking forward to having this sale here with us in Clogher and as much as we would like everyone to attend this just isn’t possible under strict covid restrictions, we want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe sale.

“We will have room for roughly 60 people around our sale ring and we plan to have another ring set up for online bidders also. We urge buyers to please contact the market office to pre book a buyer spot as non-registered buyers will not be given entry into the sale ring.

“Please do not think this is a social event,” Robert added.
