Heifers sold to a top price of £1,300 for a 632kg Charolais at £2.06 per kg and to a top of £2.71 per kilo for a Limousin 314kg at £850.

Cattle breeding sale: A great show of over 60 cattle were presented at Swatragh Livestock Mart on Friday night last, which resulted in an outstanding trade for all types of stock on offer.

Other prices for maidens Limousin, at £1,800; Charolais at £1,500; Limousin at £1,440 and Belgian Blue at £1,440.

An exceptional demand for Cows and calves on the night and they topped at £2,700 for a Simmental cow with a Limousin calf at foot.

Weekly breeding sheep sale: 1 ewe with 2 lambs at foot to £410. 1 ewe with 1 lamb at foot to £220.

Thursday evening’s sale produced a fantastic trade for almost 500 sheep that were presented at the weekly breeding sheep sale.

An excellent show again of over 900 sheep were presented at Swatragh Livestock Mart on Saturday 27th March, 250 cull ewes were offered for sale and were an excellent trade topping at £186.00.

Over 600 lambs were presented for sale, which was also met with a super trade, lambs topped at £159.00 for heavy sorts.

Spring lambs were a fantastic trade with a batch of 4 at 20.5kg selling at £149.00 (£7.27 ppk).
