Four riders, Alix Robinson, Ellie Consiglia, Regan McKee and Nicky Anderson represented Ards Riding Club at the NI Riding Club’s Indoor Individual Show Jumping Championships at Portmore on Saturday 24th January.

It was a very successful day for the club.

Alix led the way with third place on Miss Julia and a fourth on Hill Rose in the Junior Novice, while Ellie just missed getting into the jump off having had a fence down.

Regan and Rosscor Freedom followed this by taking first place in the Junior Open in an exciting jump off.

Nicky finished the day with a third place on Pinecroft Alibi and a 6th on Leitrim Carrera. Well done to all the riders.

Thanks go to chef d’equipe Ian Moore for his leadership and to Portmore and Betty Gaston and her team of helpers for a great day out.

Meanwhile the club continued its own winter leagues with the first round of the Working Hunter competiton at Cavallo Farm.

The judge for the evening was Duke McCartney and all involved are grateful for his sharing of his time and vast experience in his assessment of the competitors.

This week the club will have flat work lessons with Carolyn Mellor and the following week, 4th February, is the second round of the Showjumping competition.
