Ecclesville hosts Sunday showjumping

Ecclesville held the first of their four Sunday Shows on 20 September.

The format of three pony classes and followed by four horse classes proved to be a popular one.

The courses built by Raymond Caldwell assisted by Henry Flood, resulted in exciting jump-offs as the pony and horse riders strived to win the red ribbons.

The 90cm open pony class was won by a local girl Kacey McLaughlin riding Flicka. Karl Kee and Alistair were the very impressive winners of the 1m horse open class.


60cm Pony Class (double clears): Tiana Grace Abbott and Henry (Drew prize); Chloe Flood and Paddy; Ciara Owens and Spot; Lori Smith and Desi; Tia Smith and Latsie Sunday.

75cm Pony Class (double clears): Lori Smith and Desi (Drew prize);Tia Smith and Latsie Sunday.

90cm Pony Open Class: 1st Kacey McLaughlin and Flicka; 2nd= Megan Thompson and Snitzel; Emma McCreadie and Destiny.

60cm Horse Class- no double clears

75cm Horse Class (double clears): Mandy McQuade and Rosie (Drew prize); Natasha Gilchrist and Botera Lad

90cm Horse Class (double clears): Mandy McQuade and Rosie; Karl Kee and Gold Girl

1m Horse Open Class: 1st, Karl Kee and Alistair; 2nd, Karl Kee and Gold Girl

Ecclesville Centre will continue with these Sunday Shows over the next three Sundays .

For competitors planning on jumping at Omagh High School’s Interschool event on Saturday 24 October these would be an ideal opportunity to see Ecclesville’s colourful jumps.
