Saintfield Horse Show at Tyrella is definitely the place to be this Saturday, August 15.
Ladies will have the chance to win the Best Dressed Lady competition where the winner will receive a fabulous day out for two people at Downpatrick Races on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August. The prize includes lunch in the Hospitality Suite followed by live music after the last race.
The judges will be looking for the most glamorously and suitably dressed ladies for the occasion. There will also be a few runners-up prizes. The winner and runner ups will be announced in the champagne/wine bar, which is situated at the rear of the marquee facing ring one, at 2.15pm.
On the day there will be live music from Ireland’s own Country Harmony and the famous Box Car Brian.
For those in need of a really good laugh then Delaney’s Musical Donkeys, commencing at 2.45pm in ring one, is not to be missed.
There will be show jumping, working hunters, ridden hunters, show ponies, family ponies, miniature horses, Ulster Tatler Ladies Side Saddle.
There will also be the Downpatrick Race Course race horse to riding horse with the winner receiving two tickets for the Hospitality Suite at Downpatrick Races on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31. Every competitor taking part will receive a rosette and two admission tickets for the races.
Other classes include the Bank of Ireland Ladies Equine handling class or for those who enjoy hacking round the roads, there is “The Happy Hackers Class”.
The show opens at 9am and will run to 5pm. Admission is £2.50 adults and children free with amusements, trade stands and lots of delicious food on offer.
