Due to unforeseen circumstances the Pegus Young Event Horse qualifier to be held at Mullingar Equestrian Centre on Tuesday 14th April was cancelled.
As a result the rules for the remaining qualifiers have been adjusted.
Now horses must only have competed in one qualifier instead of two and attained at least 60%.
Moreover the top five horses in each class at the remaining qualifying venues will qualify for the final on 13 and 14 May at Balmoral Park.
Due to the change in circumstances the horses who were placed fifth at Ravensdale are now qualified.
They are Cornascriebe Mairmaid ridden by Johnny Mulligan and Anfi Del Mar ridden by Catherine Robinson.
The remaining Pegus Young Event Horse qualifiers are being held on the following dates: 21st April – Meadows Equestrian Centre; 28th April – Wexford Equestrian Centre; 30th April – Gransha Equestrian Centre.
There are four year old and five year old classes which aim to identify high calibre horses bred in Ireland with the potential to become top class eventers.
The Young Event Horse Championship has been received very well at Balmoral Show and provides a recognised platform for breeders and producers to display their quality young stock and compete for the coveted winning titles.
